Position: Senior Human Resource Generalist

We’re in search of a qualified and resourceful Senior HR generalist to support our HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The successful candidate will have experience in Human Resources, Health and Safety and has an interest in working for a company that is closely tied to the Construction Industry.

There is an opportunity to grow and learn in this role as the team progresses.

 

We are looking for a Senior HR Generalist who:

  • Has experience in health and safety

  • Is proficient in Microsoft 365 and quick to learn new technology

  • Is seeking a career that supports personal and professional development

  • Can perform well in all functions in HR

  • Remains knowledgeable and up to date on current legislation and HR trends

  • Can complete full-cycle recruitment with no supervision

  • Has developed and written policies

  • Possesses outstanding leadership skills

  • Displays excellent organization and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Monitor and enforce all policies and procedures are being adhered to

  • Perform duties in all aspects of Human Resources including; health and safety, HR compliance, employee relations, policies & procedures, handbook revisions, HR documents creation (such as offer letters, performance improvement plans, etc.), job description review & creation, compensation analysis, full-cycle recruitment, and performance management

Qualifications:

Education

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources

  • CHRP is considered an asset

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience

  • Workplace Health and Safety Legislation; WHMIS; etc.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations

  • Self-starter with strong prioritization and time management skills

  • Proven teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization HRIS and talent management systems
